about

It's from The zombie apocalypse holiday musical The Orphans Feast The Monocle produced a couple years ago.

I wrote it as I saw my and other's reaction to the Salvation Army ringer by the bookstore on The Plaza in KC. Just passing by.... That and the lasting impression the book Ironweeds had on me.

lyrics

Hustly-Bustly (from Orphan's Feast)

Hustly bustly, Hustly Bustly
Can't you hear the bells?
A few coins left from whatever the merchant sells
Would be nice....
Would buy some rice....
For these homeless souls I sing for

Hustly Bustly, Hestly-Bestly
Don't you ever slow?
A Monet painting right in front of your
And this scene would be a death knell ---
But they would never know it.

DECK THE HALLS
Deck The Halls With Boughs of holly
Fa la la la la - La la la la
Tis The Season to be Jolly
Fa la la la la - La la la la

Don we now our gay apparel
Fa la la - la la la
La la la
